Long Overdue Update

Hello world! It has been far too long, and so much has happened! Somehow, I have almost no photos of all that has happened, but see a few shots below.

Some highlights: my roommates invited me to join them for supposedly the best tortilla española in Madrid with their friends. I say supposedly because they decided it was not very good, but I thought it was great! I invited Paula and Hannah to join, and we had a blast. We did some language exchange with their friends and had a nice evening.

Two weekends ago, I went to Casa de Campo on Saturday. It’s a beautiful park area in the South West of Madrid, but accessible by the metro! I walked through the forest, around the lake, and discovered a new sport played in white water kayaks on the lake with a ball. It looked like fun!

I had a busy week preparing mini experiments for class. You can see my many little cups of ingredients below. Also, I had to source some helium locally (also known as walking down the street with some unicorn balloons).

Over the weekend, we celebrated Halloween. At school on Friday, I dressed up with the Science Department chair as Helium (noble gases). Then I went to two Halloween parties (one Friday and one Saturday). Needless to say, my sleep schedule basically inverted this weekend – partying in Spain ends around 6am. Something about dinner being at 10 or 11pm shifts the whole schedule. Despite the late nights (early mornings!), I caught up on sleep.

After a restful and fun weekend, we are back to school for another busy week. This weekend we have a 3-day weekend, and I’ll be heading to Venice with my friend Rose, who is studying at Oxford! Many photos and updates coming soon from that!

Sending you all my best, and I hope you enjoy some of the photos! Talk soon!
